Completing my Doctor of Business Administration at Warwick University was a transformative journey, but my true passion for sustainability propelled me to seek further education in this field.

After an exhaustive search spanning 9 to 12 weeks, I found the perfect fit in SUMAS, a school deeply rooted in sustainability at its core.

SUMAS stood out with its exceptional models and innovative approach to sustainability education. Enrolling in the MAM in Sustainability Management program for a year was an exhilarating experience that surpassed all my expectations.

This program not only equipped me with profound knowledge but also empowered me to advance my sustainability initiatives and projects.

I studied hospitality and had a very insightful class on business ethics, which made me want to pursue a master’s degree in sustainability. I started looking for a school and discovered SUMAS, which is the first school completely dedicated to sustainability.

I also found that they had a campus in Gland and another one in Milan. This is also part of why I chose to do my master’s there – to be able to spend half of my studies in one country and the other half in the other one.

I started in Gland, which was very nice. It’s surrounded by nature, and the campus is amazing. It’s located next to the building where WWF and IUCN are based. It was really relaxing, I would say. Then I went to Milan, a vibrant city where there’s always something to do and see.

Sustainability is so well integrated into the subjects at SUMAS, not just in academic content but also through the dialogues created by our professors, our projects and the networking opportunities with guest speakers.

I know I can now apply the theories of sustainability in business to developing a new or existing product to create real positive impact for the environment and society.

At SUMAS I have learnt the skills needed to attain successful teamwork, thanks to the many projects we are involved in. It enabled the creation of a strong network and bond with the students.

Completing the Master of Arts in Management (MAM) in Sustainable Hospitality Management at SUMAS was a transformative experience for me, both personally and professionally. Coming from a background in business engineering, where my focus was primarily on hard skills, the program at SUMAS provided me with an invaluable opportunity to broaden my expertise.

Although this was an enormous difference from what I was used to, the curriculum equipped me with crucial soft skills, such as communication and cultural differences, which are essential in today’s rapidly evolving business landscape.

One of the most impactful aspects of my time at SUMAS was the chance to connect with like- minded professionals from around the world.

The diverse and dynamic network I developed during my studies has been instrumental in my role as Co-CEO of Ecotel Consultancy, where we specialize in sustainable hospitality consultancy on a global scale. The insights and connections gained at SUMAS continue to influence and inspire my work daily.

I wanted to study sustainable hospitality management, and SUMAS was the only university that provided such a master’s degree. I had looked up for other universities in Europe and Canada, but SUMAS’ programme was the one that I felt the most attracted to. The fact that I could study online was also a huge advantage!

SUMAS has given me the tools to be more confident in my skills and knowledge when it comes to sustainability management. The program includes self-development courses that allowed me to really understand what my main strengths are, and which values drive me the most in this sector.

I could also practice my managerial and consulting skills working in groups throughout my studies. The program allowed me to put into practice on interesting projects my newly acquired sustainable knowledge, and taught me the best ways to have a holistic view in business and how to find win-win solutions.

Thanks to SUMAS, I got to work in collaboration with a five-star resort hotel as part of my master’s CAPSTONE class. This collaboration has resulted in a job offer as a CSR manager. So not only did the master’s degree help me hone my skills in sustainability management, but it also helped me to get a job in the sector I was looking for right after I received my degree! For sure both this master and this job experience will be a huge asset for my career.

I chose SUMAS because it’s very practical. I had the chance to work on different projects. At the Milan campus, I worked with Migros, which is a major supermarket chain in Switzerland. It was about green marketing: they created a new label, the M-check, that helps you understand how sustainable your products are. We got to benchmark it with different ecolabels, compare them, and provide the client with a solution to actually improve their M-check. So it was really interesting to apply sustainability in a marketing context.

Then I also worked with MUDEC, which is a famous museum in Milan. It was interesting for me because I don’t know much about the arts field. In this project, we had to understand how sustainability applies to the art and museum fields, including exhibitions.

Another project was with the WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development). We worked with them by analyzing the net- zero transformation of a specific company and had to provide this company with a solution to improve their net-zero transformation to become a member of the WBCSD.

I really enjoyed these three projects because they covered different industries and topics.

The MBA in Sustainability Management at SUMAS was a transformative milestone in both my professional and personal journey. Coming from a legal background in Peru, with years of experience in contract administration across private sectors, I felt a growing need to expand my perspective toward a more integrated and responsible approach to business.

SUMAS provided me with the foundational knowledge to begin my journey into sustainability. Each course allowed me to bridge my legal and managerial expertise with concrete sustainability strategies and gain skills that now I can apply in my current role in project management for Sapiens Advisory & Consulting SpA.

I understand now that sustainability education is no longer optional—it’s essential for understanding how businesses can thrive in a rapidly changing world. But more than that, it’s about preparing to be part of the solution.

My experience at the Sustainability Management School (SUMAS) was both intellectually rewarding and professionally valuable. The program provided a strong framework for understanding how sustainability considerations intersect with finance, leadership, and long-term economic value.

The MBA in Sustainable Finance and Digital Innovation strengthened my ability to approach business decisions with a broader perspective — balancing financial performance with environmental and social responsibility.

In my current role leading a regional Private Banking team at RBC, these insights continue to influence how I think about long-term wealth management and the evolving expectations of clients.
It also reinforced the importance of integrating sustainability into strategic decision-making at the leadership level.

What I valued most during my time at SUMAS was the international perspective of the program. Learning alongside professionals from different countries and industries created meaningful discussions about how sustainability challenges and opportunities vary across markets. That global lens made the program particularly relevant in today’s interconnected world.

My experience at SUMAS, as part of the MBA in Sustainable Finance and Innovation at the Geneva campus, has been a significant academic and professional milestone in my journey.

With a background in finance, technology, and sustainable development, the program has deepened my understanding of how sustainable finance and innovation can drive responsible decision-making and long-term value creation.

Studying in an international environment has broadened my perspective on global business challenges and strengthened my critical thinking. This experience has strengthened my commitment to building a career focused on sustainable finance, innovation, and meaningful impact.

SUMAS has provided me with the with both a fundamental knowledge of sustainability and the opportunity to explore sustainability topics in-depth. I am now better equipped to add value to all business stakeholders.

My experience at SUMAS was both enriching and transformative. The program provided a strong foundation in sustainability principles, allowing me to understand how sustainable practices can be effectively integrated into hospitality management and business leadership.

The MBA program significantly contributed to my professional growth by strengthening my strategic thinking, leadership abilities, and understanding of responsible management. The knowledge and perspectives I gained have been valuable in my current role as an academic leader, where I actively work to shape the next generation of hospitality professionals.
Importantly, the academic foundation I developed at SUMAS continues to support my doctoral research, which builds upon the sustainability frameworks and responsible management concepts I studied during my MBA.

What I valued most during my time at SUMAS was the international perspective of the curriculum and the supportive academic environment, which made the learning experience truly meaningful and intellectually stimulating.

I am proud to be part of the SUMAS alumni community and grateful for the knowledge and inspiration the institution has provided. I would highly recommend SUMAS to anyone looking to build a career in sustainable business and hospitality management.

I found out that SUMAS is actually the perfect school to build up my career with an MBA in sustainable hospitality.

It was really important to me to choose a business school where I could learn with people who were really interested in making a positive impact.
