Student life at the University of Greenwich is enriched with culture, regardless of which campus you are based at. Our flagship campus at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich and our Medway Campus at the Chatham Dockyards in Kent are rich in maritime history and architectural wonder. You may recognise our home campus from major Hollywood films and TV shows, as it is one of the few places in the world that makes for a perfect period piece location. Our Avery Hill Campus in Eltham, a specialist site for students of education and health courses, is purpose-built with onsite accommodation, excellent sports facilities and state-of-the-art learning environments. The university offers a free low-emissions bus service between Greenwich and Avery Hill, or for a small fee to and from Medway, our science and engineering hub. All our campuses enjoy an exciting local scene, with restaurants, bars and entertainment venues nearby.
The University of Greenwich is a top five London university, as voted by students (StudentCrowd Awards 2026). Students reviewed their personal experience across a number of categories, including campus and facilities, clubs and societies, students' union and careers service. Greenwich is home to the O2 arena, an entertainment venue that hosts live music and performance events. With transport links to major UK hubs, leisure destinations and international airports, travelling to and from the city is easy.
We provide an excellent social experience, with networks and societies for every interest and identity. These include sports and music, as well as supportive networks such as those for international students, students who identify as LGBTQ and student parents.
