Department of International History
The Department of International History at LSE is a world-leading centre for the study of international and global history. Founded in 1954, the department has developed a distinctive approach to understanding the past by exploring the relationships between states, societies, peoples and cultures – and by examining domestic and international history together.
Our courses span the 15th century to the present and range across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. Students learn from leading historians whose research is shaping understanding of the modern world, while becoming part of a stimulating, supportive and international academic community.
