With a full-time academic staff of over 40 and a total student population of about 900 across undergraduate and postgraduate study, the School of Law is a dynamic place of research, teaching and learning. Both staff and students are well-supported by an experienced team of administrative staff.
We offer a wide range postgraduate programmes. The courses we offer are rigorous and interesting and cover a diverse range of subjects. Our taught masters programmes are designed exclusively for postgraduate students and are characterised by a commitment to seminars and other small group sessions. This small group teaching for both undergraduates and postgraduates enables our students to be directly assisted in their learning and to have effective interaction with their law teachers.
The School offers supervision for research degrees in most subject areas of the law, and also for interdisciplinary projects which have a legal aspect.
Our students come from all over the United Kingdom and from all around the world to take our very popular postgraduate degrees and they enrich the lives of all in the School and the University.
The collection of law materials in the University Library is excellent and we have quality computer and other information resources dedicated to Law students, as well as helpful and knowledgeable administrative staff.
Our graduates are much sought after by employers and retain a strong affection for the School and the university.
